Traverse given vertex tree top-down, adjusting the boundary. Given the root node of a vertex tree, traverses the tree in a top-down fashion, using a user-specified function to determine whether to fold or unfold nodes.

Parameters:

node - the root of the (sub)tree to be adjusted
foldtest - () returns 1 if node should be folded, 0 otherwise
